Even before we had children, Neerav and I loved to travel together. In the first five years of our marriage, we made a point of it – traveling to Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Mexico. We sailed to the islands, including Barbados, the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, St. Barts, St, Lucia, St. Thomas, and Tortola. I’ve been to Haiti on assignment, and Neerav has been to countless more countries for his work.
But we both agree – there’s something special about traveling abroad with kids. Seeing a foreign land through the eyes of a child is fresh, exciting, and new. And when planning a trip with kids, I tend to seek out more opportunities to “do,” instead of simply observe. We all should be do-ers!
