From Neerav: I played the Moorea Green Pearl Golf Course today with Aidan as my caddie. While not a tour caddie, he did offer consistent advice – hit it straight! That proved harder than anticipated given the 40 mph winds. Overall, I would have to rate the course below average for playability. The fairways were alright, but the greens were very slow and inconsistent. There were some nice views especially on Hole 7 and most of the back nine, but I would have expected more for a Jack Nicklaus-designed course.
From Aidan: I was Dad’s caddie. I got to drive the cart. At first, I did not drive well. I ran into a fence. Then I got better. At the end, I was able to drive full throttle on turns. Dad shot an 89, 19 above par – still good for not using his own clubs.
From Nathan: While Aidan and Dad played golf, Mom and I went to Belvedere Lookout. The taxi up to the lookout cost $50! The view at the top was great. We could see Cook’s Bay, Opunohu Bay (site of scenes in the movie Mutiny on the Bounty with Marlon Brando and Bounty with Mel Gibson and Anthony Hopkins), and Mt. Rotui. When we got back to the hotel, we played tennis and went snorkeling. There were no water sports today because of the strong current and wind.
From Shellie: I put that claw foot tub in the luxurious hotel bathroom to use – laundry. After seeing that the hotel service charged $4 to wash a pair of underwear(!) and discovering no other services in the area, I threw a little Tide in the tub and started scrubbing.
